Mangrove trees are critical to coastal ecosystems, helping both plants and animals to survive. Mangroves also protect the mainland from natural calamities like cyclones and tsunamis. Dr. Arvind Untawale, from Goa, India, has dedicated more than 25 years to the conservation of mangroves. Even after his retirement he continues to work. His love for mangroves is what drives him.
